Design-Surgery® dress forms for designers, tutors, and students are created by people who work in industry and education and who experience firsthand the shortcomings of some of the mannequins in use today.

Our experience and knowledge, together with our passion and desire to create the best that we can, have gone into the design and production of our FCE® range of body forms.

Design-Surgery® dress forms for designers, tutors, and students are created by people who work in industry and education and who experience firsthand the shortcomings of the mannequins in use today. Our experience and knowledge, together with our passion and desire to create the best that we can, have gone into the design and production of our FCE® range of body forms.

We developed each of our Design-Surgery® dress forms to be anatomically correct and more relevant to today’s body shapes. We designed our models to provide designers and students with more information to help them judge proportions and style lines when working on the stand.

Our more natural body shape is more beneficial to the design and pattern-cutting process than those of other stands, especially for close-fitting garments. For students, the natural body shape provides encouragement and confidence to experiment, expanding their creative pattern-cutting abilities without the need for a live model to be regularly available to produce well-fitting garments.

Every model in our FCE® range features detachable arm caps with true-depth armholes. Most female models have collapsible shoulders. Our MF dress forms can be neck-suspended or leg-supported, and both legs on our FB full-body long leg models are detachable.

All body forms come with a sturdy, stable metal base with four wheels – two lockable, and a foot pedal to adjust height.

Soft Arms & Heads

Our range of soft arms and heads is designed to enhance your experience with our Design-Surgery body forms and can also be used with other stand makes.

We create each item in our North London Studio, where we stock standard sizes for both men and women. We undertake commissions to individual specifications.

Equipment

We have selected a range of tools, equipment and consumables that we consider necessary and useful for students, pattern cutters and designers.

All the products that we sell are used and tested by us in our studio or other working environments to ensure that they are functional, reliable and are good value for money.

We provide pop-up shops to Universities, selling our equipment and stands to students. We can tailor packs to suit the needs of individual courses.
